What does it feel like to be surrounded by a bunch of adorable mini pigs?
Mipig Cafe is the first café in Japan where you can interact closely with mini pigs.
The café was created to help people understand that mini pigs aren’t just smart and clean, they can also make wonderful pets.
They remember where their toilet is, they can be trained to follow commands, and they’re incredibly sweet.

At Mipig Cafe, you can relax in a warm, cozy space and enjoy some healing time with these friendly little pigs.
If you’ve ever wanted to meet mini pigs up close, you definitely shouldn’t miss Mipig Cafe when visiting Japan!
Mipig Cafe has branches all over the country, from Tokyo and Osaka to Kyoto and even Hokkaido, so you can meet these cute mini pigs almost anywhere.
Each café has dozens of friendly pigs, and the “cuteness level” is off the charts.
We visited the Harajuku branch in Tokyo, which is fully reservation-based, so make sure to book in advance.
I booked directly through Google Maps, it was quick and easy.
When you enter the café, you’ll switch to indoor slippers and store your belongings.
You can bring your phone with you.
Entry is done in time slots. Once a staff member guides you to your seat, your session begins.

The main area has several small round tables. If you book a regular seat, you’ll be sitting with other guests, waiting for the pigs to come to you.
You can’t move around freely, so it’s all up to luck whether the pigs choose you or not.
There are also private rooms where you can enjoy one-on-one time with the pigs without competing with other people.

The café also provides a self-serve drink machine and snacks, but honestly, I didn’t even touch them because I was too busy playing with the pigs!

Once everyone sits around the tables, the staff gives each person a blanket to place on their lap. Then they gently guide the pigs toward you.

And this is where your “luck” gets tested.
Some people are instant favorites and get surrounded by four or five pigs right away, the pigs even lie down next to them and refuse to leave. So jealous!

On the other hand, some people barely get any attention at first and can only watch others happily pet their pigs.
But don’t worry, the staff does their best to bring pigs to everyone.
At first, no pigs wanted to come near me, but a kind staff member noticed and brought a few over.
While you’re not allowed to pick up the pigs yourself, you can guide them onto your lap if they’re willing.
Eventually, one pig climbed onto my lap and fell asleep, and later I had two pigs sleeping on me at the same time. It was unbelievably adorable 🤩🤩
When they woke up, they even fought for attention, it was so funny!

Each Mipig Cafe branch has different prices and hours.
Here’s an example based on the Harajuku branch:
